Hungry Hannah: Cheese Straws

So another baked good has passed by my lips and these bad boys are seriously delicious!!

I have always been the girl browsing round Tesco not just for my weekly food shop but for my treat for the drive home and 9 times out of 10 I go for a Cheese Straw. These guys aren’t the healthiest of snacks but you don’t even care after the first bite…

Ingredients

375g of Plain Flour

A Pinch of Salt

225g Butter (diced)

150g Mature Cheddar

50g Fresh Parmesan

Tsp of Mustard

2 Egg Yolks

Method

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Then add the diced butter and combine until like fine bread crumbs.

Sir in the grated cheese, mustard and egg yolks.

Add 4-5 tablespoons of water and combine to make a firm dough.

Wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Roll out to the thickness of a £2 coin and cut into strips, these can be long or short its your choice.

Then bake in the oven for 10/15 minutes until golden brown.
